FREEMAN, Francis Bemis - 88, passed away in San Francisco on Sept. 4, 2003. Born Nov.
15, 1914 in Flagstaff, AZ. A member of and worker for California Conservation Corps. During the war years he worked at the shipyard in San Francisco. He became a master baker and proud owner of the Donut Bowl in the Richmond District. He last worked for the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement. He was a member of the California Academy of Science in Golden Gate Park. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Nancy Marie Freeman; sons, Michael Francis Freeman, Anthony Thomas Freeman (Tory Brady) of Berkeley and Gregory James Freeman (Pauline Peele); grandchildren Tori Marie Freeman, Vega Freeman Brady and step grandson Jesse Upton. Services will be private. Memorial gifts may be made to California Academy of Science.Bay Area, CA
